About
I was born in Hagen (NRW) in 1979. At the age of 11, I moved with my parents and my two younger brothers to Schleswig-Holstein, where I have remained, apart from a few short interruptions. After graduating from high school in Norderstedt, I decided to study communication design at the htk Academy in Hamburg. I then worked for several years as an art director and team leader in various advertising agencies in Hamburg.
Even back then, I found myself picking up brushes and colours more and more often in my little free time and found relaxation from the stresses of everyday life in painting. My dream of making painting my profession became more and more solidified during these years. In 2010, I decided to become self-employed, initially specialising in graphic and print design. Since 2022, I have been focussing on acrylic painting in my studio in Kappeln. Right next to the beautiful Schlei and the Baltic Sea, I find the necessary peace and inspiration for my paintings here.
In addition to abstract works and commissioned paintings, painting animal portraits is my greatest passion. I try to bring the animals onto the canvas as realistically and in as much detail as possible. I strive to bring the animal's personality to the canvas so that the viewer has the feeling of looking directly into the animal's eyes and feeling a special connection. My art should not only be visually appealing, but also thought-provoking and encourage an appreciation for the animal kingdom.
